A future for heritage science
Preserving knowledge.
Opening archives.
The story of a heritage object lives in the research around it. H-SEARCH is a project to preserve that knowledge and make it easier to discover.

Decades of research.
A resource for the future.
Conservation reports, scientific images, material analyses and historical research: KIK/IRPA’s intervention dossiers bring together the evidence behind the care of cultural heritage.
H-SEARCH proposes a sustainable approach to these paper, hybrid and digital-born archives, combining long-term preservation with FAIR access and multilingual discovery.
Why this project matters →The research programme
Three connected lines of work.
Select the records. Preserve the evidence. Open the knowledge to research.
Selection & evaluation
Develop a consistent way to prioritise the archive, then assemble a representative set of dossiers to test preservation and access workflows.
Archival preservation
Develop a long-term digital preservation strategy, moving from a reusable theoretical model to an implemented and evaluated service.
Access & discovery
Make the scientific datasets in intervention dossiers more open and FAIR, extending existing infrastructure with multilingual full-text discovery.
